“I learned SO much from this course! Ana was very well organized and professional, but she was also human which is important for also teaching empathy. I especially appreciated how she introduced contemporary issues into lectures and discussions. Ana was also really effective in teaching critical thinking. She called out false ideas and rudeness and helped us think about how we could revise our language. I know that she cared about me and my peers because of the level of effort and ‘realness’ that she used in every class. She is an excellent teacher”

“You can tell the instructor was 100% invested in this work, and that helped with the learning because watching her get excited about things helped me engage more. It’s hard to say because these topics sometimes you’re going to have to sit with them and sit with these ideas and the contribution of the U.S. to the damage caused around the world and how we living here and benefitting off of it. 🙂 She is amazing!!! I cannot stress this enough. I am very upset and privileged to have taken this class because I know she’s graduating so she probably wont teach this class in the upcoming semesters. Which is a shame!! because this department needs transnational feminism”.

“The class felt very thorough and comprehensive in covering the large range of aspects regarding gender and social change. The active, open discussions were worth far more than any one-way lecture ever could have been.”

“She reviewed reading assignment posts prior to each class and always had definitions for and adapted her lecture to maximize understanding of issues that students struggled with. She always gave relatable examples for material that was unfamiliar in the readings”.
